Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach is located in East Central Florida. The city is historically known as having a beach where the hard packed sand allows motorized vehicles to drive on the beach in restricted areas. Key West

Key West is a great area in Florida that families can go to. Key West and the rest of the Florida Keys are coral islands - former reefs, from when the ocean was deeper. Today, the ocean is shallower and the reefs are six miles offshore, providing a barrier to wave action. Thus, with little sand to begin with, and a lack of wave action to deposit more, beaches in the Keys are a bit of a rarity.

- Higg's Beachwide, sandy beach with long wooden pier. Located at the end of Reynold's Street. Restroom facilities, covered picnic tables, full service restaurant, playground, chair rentals, rafts and watersports rentals.
- Rest Beach, soft sand and natural vegetation. Home of the White Street Pier where you can enjoy some great fishing. Facilities include restrooms within walking distance, picnic tables, wheelchair accessible. Yoga deck with nightly classes. White Street on Atlantic Ocean.

What you can do in Key West?

If you would be traveling with your family, you can rent a Key West resort condo and hit the beach, do some water sports or visit the different tourist attractions in the city including Astro City, the Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center and the Key West Nature Preserve. Swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling are ideal at most beaches in Key West, but lifeguards are not present at the beaches, so swimming is at your own risk.
